We love the saying “power corrupts.” And yet here we have a case of a man receiving a great deal of power and choosing to do the right thing. I’m grateful for Mike Johnson’s choice of principle over power. He joins the ranks for people like Liz Cheney, Mitt Romney, and Mike Pence who chose the higher road. History will tell if such people will hold the line against the hucksters seeking their own glory, but such actions give me hope.
